Library Programs Offered:
• Basic Yoga for Beginners
For people who have never taken yoga before and want to learn the basics before going to a yoga studio.
• Yoga Journey Through the Chakras
A seven-week program where every week we explore a different chakra through yoga poses related to that particular chakra.
• Hatha Yoga Flow Open Level Class
A typical yoga class, no theme, focusing on the physical aspects of yoga. This can be either a one time event or a 4-6 week session.
• Themed Yoga Class
A Hatha yoga flow with a main theme and asanas built around the theme. This can be either a one time event or a 4-6 week session.
• Children's Yoga
Yoga play. Children will explore yoga through games and animal poses.
• Pajama Party Storytime Yoga for Kids
Children come in their pajamas to hear a bedtime story and practice yoga poses related to the book.
• Introduction to Reiki Workshop
People often mistakenly think Reiki is an alternative healing method or a complement to mainstream medicine, a form of miraculous healing, or maybe a form of relaxation similar to massage. Many of these are misconceptions.
The word Reiki (ray-key) is derived from Japanese and means universal life energy. This powerful natural energy is available to all of us. We are born with it; it flows through us and helps sustain us each and every day. Every living thing pulsates with energy, and each and every individual is also capable of self-healing. Reiki helps you gain access to that potential, which is buried deep within you. Reiki is a spiritual path, a way of life, and a path to enlightenment.
The role of a physical symptom is to let our bodies know when something isn’t functioning properly. It may be a symptom of a physical, emotional, mental, or spiritual problem. Reiki can help bring you back into harmony. There are ways you may already be tapping into the energy without realizing or understanding that you are doing it.
Come to this workshop and learn the fascinating history of Reiki and learn what Reiki really is and isn’t. You will be taught to feel the energy through introductory exercises. The workshop will end with a brief Reiki circle and healing session
• Chakra Workshop
The foundation to a healthy body consists of opening and balancing the chakras in order to create a sustainable, harmonious flow of energy. Unfortunately, the chakras can become stuck or unbalanced when you experience life difficulties. In this workshop you will learn to be more aware of your chakras; where they’re located, what parts of the body they’re associated with, and how, when balanced, they work together to create an optimal life. The workshop will include a demonstration on different chakra balancing techniques.
• The Yogic Lifestyle. Yoga Beyond the Mat.
Yoga is so much more than the exercises (asanas) you do in class; it’s a lifestyle. Come to this workshop to learn about yoga beyond the mat. You will learn about the yamas and nyamas, different forms of yoga lifestyles including but not limited to Karma yoga and Bhakti yoga, and what all this means and how these concepts can be worked into our modern lifestyle.
